Organise and raise awareness together with the VUB Greenteam
The world is in urgent need of changemakers and preferably changemakers with green fingers. The VUB Greenteam has understood that message and is working on a complete bottom-up sustainability policy through creative actions and projects. In short: the Greenteam is on a mission, and they need you!
Since 2014, Greenteam has been busy engaging and informing the entire VUB community about making their work-study and living environment more sustainable. But their action transcends the boundaries of the university and its Sustainability Action Plan. Greenteam is part of a larger European network: the Green Office Movement. Consequently, the team has a broader action plan and pursues the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN and the European 'Green Deal'.
The Greenteam raises awareness and encourages engagement through social media, posters, and videos, but also carries out innovative actions and organises events. Within the VUB, for example, the team works together with the VUB restaurant to be able to present the most sustainable menu possible. Outside the VUB, the Greenteam participated in the Weconnect week, provided a sustainable catering list for the city of Brussels, organised bike rides in collaboration with Brik, and so the list goes on.
Apart from the two coordinators and a few working students, the team also consists of several enthusiastic volunteers, and we need more of them! As a volunteer, you help organise actions and events and you gain a lot of knowledge about sustainability. The Greenteam touches on every aspect of the concept of sustainability: water, energy, consumption and production, and so on. No challenge is too big! Become a volunteer and help the Greenteam make the world a sustainable place!
