Every Belgian health insurance pays back partially a short-term treatment with a primary care psychologist. Make sure to check the financial compensation you can get with your health insurance. (Dutch page)

If the mental healthcare cannot be provided by the internal VUB support system or external partners, you can apply for a financial contribution.

Every student should be able to study at VUB without financial worries. To make this possible, we offer an extensive range of support services.

What should you do when confronted with transgressive behaviour?

Confronted with transgressive behaviour? Are you a victim, witness or have any questions on this?

For students who experience transgressive behaviour in educational context, and want to report it externally.

Are you confronted with unwanted behaviour by a fellow student or a member of the (teaching) staff during your studies? The confidential counsellors for students are there for you.

Student organisations who baptise and those with at least 15 board members, have one or more confidential counsellors. This person is a peer and is the first point of contact for problems with the organisation, such as inappropriate behavior, conflicts, etc. You can contact them for a discreet conversation. Contact your organisation to find out who the confidential counsellor is.

The security guards are responsible for security on campus 24/7.

The university’s disciplinary procedure may be initiated in the event that mediation by a counsellor fails to resolve the matter, or if the behaviour constitutes a criminal offence.
