Eutopia European University
EUTOPIA is a European University alliance of 10 European universities aiming to become by 2025 an open, multicultural, confederated operation of connected campuses. EUTOPIA partners are Vrije Universiteit Brussel, CY Cergy Paris University, University of Gothenburg, University of Ljubljana, Pompeu Fabra University-Barcelona, The University of Warwick, Babeș-Bolyai University, Technische Universität Dresden, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, and NOVA University Lisbon.
"European Universities" are transnational alliances of higher education institutions from across the EU that come together for the benefit of students, teachers and society.
EUTOPIA 2050 pilot 2019-2022 Erasmus+ project
EUTOPIA 2050 is student-centered and committed to the principles of openness and inclusion. The anchored project is guided by the EUTOPIA vision and therefore carries the acronym ‘EUTOPIA 2050’: European Universities Transforming to an Open Inclusive Academy for 2050.
EUTOPIA Science & Innovation Post-Doctoral Fellowships (SIF) 2020-2025
The EUTOPIA SIF program is a yearly call open to high-profile PhD holders or equivalent, of any nationality, complying with the MSCA-COFUND mobility rule. Applicants are entirely free in the design of their research project (bottom-up research), provided they fit one or more of the program’s Key Research Areas in their project.
Successful applicants receive a two-year grant hosted at one of the 6 EUTOPIA partners (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, CY Cergy Paris University, University of Gothenburg, University of Ljubljana, Pompeu Fabra University-Barcelona, The University of Warwick). They will be employed within the prestigious European MSCA program with attractive financial and working conditions. Extensive research mobility is integral to the fellowships with two compulsory secondment periods with the aim of fostering the fellows’ entrepreneurial spirit, tangible research impact and innovation.
EUTOPIA SIF 4th call for applicants:
VUB offers 4 post-doctoral fellowships to be hosted at its Strategic Research Programs. The fellows will become full members of the host research group for the duration of the fellowship and receive academic and professional guidance from a senior academic mentor and from experts (leadership, open science, ethics..).

Young Leader Academy (YLA)
The EUTOPIA Young Leaders Academy (YLA) supports research exchanges between high-potential researchers (between 2 to 12 years after PhD completion). Members of the EUTOPIA Young Leaders Academy constitute a community of promising independent research leaders at the scale of EUTOPIA, sharing and promoting and the EUTOPIA vision of an interconnected academic environment.
YLA Fellows are appointed for a period of 2 years.
PhD co-tutelle program
The EUTOPIA PhD co-tutelle program supports high-quality PhD projects in all research areas co-supervised by academics of the EUTOPIA member universities. It offers PhD fellowships for 3 to 4 years. It is expected to lead to high-quality research projects with global impact, providing exciting research opportunities for doctoral candidates.

EUTOPIA TRAIN (Transforming Research & Innovation) 2021-2023 H2020 IBA SwafS Support project
EUTOPIA-TRAIN fosters the emergence of a challenge-driven knowledge-creation community and capitalises on their joint potential to promote innovation and societal impact. EUTOPIA-TRAIN aims to extend its challenge-led educational model to the development of its research and innovation (R&I) activities.
EUTOPIA MORE,  2022-2026, Erasmus+ project
The EUTOPIA MORE program is a follow up to the EUTOPIA 2050 project. It demonstrates that the EUTOPIA alliance is succeeding in its ambition to create a European university model that is student-centered and promotes international education, research and impact on society.
