The StreetForum project, coordinated by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), introduces an innovative approach to transforming city streets into liveable traffic-free zones. As part of a European partnership involving 20 organisations, StreetForum develops a set of tools that enable communities to promote traffic reduction and liveability.

Alongside local partner organisations, the tools will be tested this summer in Brussels, Vienna, Stockholm and Istanbul. The toolkit includes a platform for digital dialogue, a workshop with a design game and guidelines for artistic and cultural street-based interventions.

In Brussels, project partner Cultureghem is taking to the streets with mobile kitchens and play equipment at two sites in the Cureghem neighbourhood of Anderlecht. Residents and other interested parties are invited to take part in the activities. Play the participatory Design Game, build a basket ring with Mobil and tell your story in the Storytelling Game, or enjoy Cultureghem’s delicious food and games while socialising with the neighbours.
