Artificial Intelligence (AI) is at the center of societal debates, evoking both enthusiasm and concern. With rapid advancements in AI, data, and robotics, questions about the ethical and societal impact of these technologies are becoming increasingly urgent. In this context, the FARI Brussels Conference 2024 will take place on Monday, November 18. The conference provides a platform for critical reflection and dialogue among stakeholders from various sectors. Are these technologies developing in a socially acceptable and sustainable direction? How can we ensure that AI benefits everyone and not just a few? Is there such a thing as AI, data, and robotics for the public good? These questions will be explored under the theme: “Is AI a Public Good?”

The day will begin with inspiring opening remarks from the rectors or vice-rectors for research of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). This opening will highlight the collaboration between the two Brussels universities and set the tone for the conference theme: “AI as a Public Good?”

You are warmly invited to attend this conference. There will also be opportunities to engage in discussions with the attending experts and rectors. Please confirm your attendance by November 18 by contacting Leen.Vandevelde2@vub.be or +32 471 09 17 24.
