Since 9/11, the world is undergoing massive changes in terms of security, terrorism and human rights. From the ashes of the smouldering Twin Towers would rise a new world order, a radical shift in thinking & doing, a linguistic inability to understand the event. Fear and terror (and the terror of fear) would henceforth set the policy agenda, not only in America but also in Europe and the rest of the world. Not only did the judiciary, police and security services undergo a transformation, the general public's acceptance of more control also changed dramatically.

Drawing on his journalistic experience, Vranckx reviews the most important geopolitical shifts in the world since 9/11. An update of his acclaimed 2011 documentary 'De vloek van Osama', which focuses on the rise and fall of IS, the roots of Muslim terrorism, the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, and their searing impact on the security policies of Western countries and citizens' subjective perception of security.
