Before you apply to follow courses at VUB, you always need permission from VUB, as well as your current school.
Attention: Were you a guest student during the previous academic year? Guest students cannot re-enrol via the SelfService, and need to fill out the form again if they wish to take courses at VUB again.

How to apply as a guest student
There are 2 parts to the application:
- Your personal information (incl. recent picture)
- Your programme details: this is where you mention which courses you wish to take at VUB.
After your application
The faculty offering the courses will review your application. If it's approved, our student administration will arrange your enrolment. Your courses will be registered by your faculty.
Good to know
Transcript of records
If you are enrolled as a guest student, you will not receive a transcript of records. You will receive your results from your home institution. You can view your grades in the Student SelfService.
Tuition fee
You do not need to pay tuition fee for the course(s) you follow as a guest student at the VUB.
Re-enrolling
Guest students must fill out the request form each year to be allowed to re-enrol.
