Welcome at Sportprikkels VUB!
On Thursday 30 March, our students from the third Bachelor of Physical Education and Movement Sciences organised the 30th (!) edition of Sportprikkels as part of the course 'Event and project management in sports'. In cooperation with MOEV and Sport Vlaanderen, Sportprikkels focused on the annual promotion of lifelong sports and exercise among third-graders of secondary education.
Our students achieved this by welcoming some 600 students from 7 different schools to our bustling VUB campus in Etterbeek and introducing them to more than 40 different sports in our extensive sports infrastructure.
Sports as a means for inclusion
In order to propagate the VUB slogan 'The World Needs You' and focus on 'unity in diversity', this year participating students were given the opportunity to get to know numerous G-sports, in addition to innovative and easily accessible sports. In this way, our students also managed to enthuse the Belgian Paralympic Committee about Sportprikkels. A success, as it turned out!
With numerous positive reactions from teachers, students and the representatives of the Belgian Paralympic Committee, we can look back on a very successful edition.
