What is an organisational charter?
The functioning of the central and support councils is described in the organisational charter of our university. This document is a kind of constitution of VUB, in which the elementary provisions regarding the fundamental values and core mission of the VUB are described. It also contains principles that are close to the heart of the VUB community, such as the principle of Free Research. Because the VUB is an institution governed by private law, the VUB can shape its own organisational charter. The document also takes into account the general principles of good governance, which are set out in a Charter Good Governance.
