How to Use AI in Architectural Engineering?

On Tuesday, February 20th, and Wednesday, February 21st, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, we are organizing two information sessions on the use of AI in the Architectural Engineering program (on Tuesday, 20/2 in Dutch in auditorium I.0.03; on Wednesday, 21/2 in English in auditorium I.0.01). We have invited Andres Algaba, one of the experts from VUB in the field of Artificial Intelligence, to speak on this topic. The focus will be on utilizing AI in research-related subjects and tasks, such as writing a paper or working on a master's thesis. The aim is to familiarize you with the world of ChatGPT and other AI tools, highlighting both the pitfalls and opportunities. It will be an interactive hands-on session: you may have already come up with creative ways to use ChatGPT, and we encourage you to share these with each other. Be sure to bring your laptop.

To prepare optimally for the session, we have prepared a short survey with 5 questions (via this link or the QR code below), e.g. which AI tools you are currently using. Could you please all fill this out by Friday, February 16th?

FYI: the information sessions are part of the following courses, but even if you are not enrolled in these courses, you are welcome to participate:

  • BA1: Architecture and Construction History 19th and 20th centuries
  • BA2: History of Urban Planning
  • BA3: Architectural and Construction History before 1850
  • MA1: Research Methods in Architectural Engineering
  • MA2: Master Thesis in Architectural Engineering
