In this PhD thesis, a probability-based framework to perform the reliability analysis is proposed and the partial factor for prestress, snow load, and wind load are calibrated by means of a minimisation process based on this proposed probability-based framework. Afterwards, the reliability analysis is performed of an existing membrane structure considering the original design method, namely the stress factor method. Finally, the same membrane structure is designed according to the calibrated partial factors and the reliability analysis is once again performed.
