Practical
Join VUB at Brussels Pride on Saturday, 17 May 2025! We’ll kick off at 2 PM in Ravensteinstraat, Brussels. See you there!
Did you know this is the first Brussels Pride since the event was officially recognised as intangible heritage by the Brussels-Capital Region?
In October 2024, the Brussels-Capital Region added Brussels Pride to its list of intangible cultural heritage, making it only the second Pride in the world to receive this official recognition. The next step? A transnational application, led by Amsterdam, to UNESCO. The goal is global recognition of Pride, strengthening LGBTQIA+ rights worldwide—at a time when, unfortunately, hard-won progress is too often under threat.
We are delighted that the communities of VUB GreenTeam, Rhea, UZ Brussel, OSB VUB, Spectrum VUB, and huisvandeMens Brussel are supporting this message and joining us in the celebrations. Will you join us too?
Warming up
11:00 – 12:20: VUB GreenTeam, Rhea and Spectrum are kicking things off a bit earlier. They’ll start at 11:00 with face painting and conversations about Pride. Their message is to protect research about gender and sexuality from authoritarian attacks and censorship. Where: VUB Main Campus, room C.207. From there, they’ll walk together to Ravensteinstraat to join the VUB-ULB group. Everyone is warmly welcome! >>> More info
