Towards an open and multicultural superuniversity
What does the European university of the future look like? If it were up to us and the other members of EUTOPIA: we would have campuses all over Europe, strongly connected to our urban environment and culture and open to the many opportunities that the European heritage of creativity and innovation brings. Our goal is to create an open and multicultural super university by 2025. It connects all our campuses across Europe. Our students, academics and staff can move around freely, take part in education and scientific research. To give shape to this university, we count on the engagement of all VUBers!
From 6 to 10 universities
In June 2019, the European Commission selected 'EUTOPIA' as one of the 17 projects that will shape the contours of a ‘European University’ of the future. What began in 2019 as an initiative of 6 founding members grew into the alliance we know today. The following are members:
Babes Bolyai University (Romania) – Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) – Ca'Foscari Venice (Italy) – CY Cergy Paris Université (France) – Technische Universität Dresden (Germany) – University of Gothenburg (Sweden) – University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) – NOVA Lisboa (Portugal) – Universitat Pompeu Fabra Barcelona (Spain) – University of Warwick (United Kingdom).
Opportunities for students, academics and staff members of the VUB
Through an intensive cooperation between VUB and the 9 other EUTOPIA-universities, the entire VUB community can participate in various international opportunities in all parts of Europe.
The individual slides can be downloaded from the DIY house style platform (for staff only).
